Year 8 pupils in Aztec Gold House enjoyed a Reward Trip to Cadbury World just before Christmas. This was their reward for being the winners of the Literacy Day Inter-House Competition which had taken place in July, when they were actually Year 7 pupils.
The day had been based around the book ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ by Roald Dahl. The project was designed to promote use of literacy throughout the curriculum.
They were tasked to design a new chocolate for Willy Wonka’s Factory and to create a new child to win the golden ticket to enter the Chocolate Factory.
The day proved an outstanding success and the overall winner was Literacy.
The winning House was Aztec Golds and they had the longest recipe ever seen and I think it would certainly make Mary Berry think!
Thanks must go to the PTFA who sponsored the trip for the pupils we are very grateful.
