In 2018, over 72% of students achieved the Government’s new headline measure, a Grade 4 in both English and Maths, despite this being the new tougher exams. This equates to a five percentage point increase on last year – a fantastic achievement.

Nearly half the students (47%) achieved the higher Grade 5 or above in both subjects – defined by the Government as a “strong pass”; a four percentage point increase on last year.

In English, 90% of pupils achieved Grades 4 or above. This is an impressive eight percentage points up on the equivalent proportion last year.

The entire cohort also excelled in achieving the very top grades, Grade 8 (old A*) and the new Grade 9 (top 20% of Grade 8s) with 26% of the cohort achieving at least one top Grade 8 or 9.

40% of grades awarded in the core subjects of English and Maths were also Grades 6 and above. This clearly demonstrates the positive impact that the high standards and expectations the Academy sets for students, and the high level of challenge, has on attainment, helping students achieve these high standards in literacy and numeracy.

88% of students achieved at least five 9-4 Grade GCSEs (or equivalent) a superb twelve percentage points increase on last year.

The Academy’s results reflect a continuing trend of excellence at Tenbury High, under the sponsorship of Ormiston Academies Trust (OAT), and the pupils, parents and staff should feel proud of their many successes.

2018 saw Tenbury High achieve its “Best Ever Results” for the 6th year in a row!
